Testimony of pastor MABAMBA, AMANI Matthew

My life is a testament to the transformative power of God's grace. Born into a Muslim family in Democratic of the Congo, Central Africa, I was raised with a strong moral foundation, yet I walked a path far from the love of God. My early years were marked by choices and behaviors that distanced me from a deeper spiritual connection. Even after relocating to Tanzania, I remained spiritually unfulfilled.

Everything began to change in 2001 when I moved to Mozambique. Life there was not easy, and in 2008, I experienced a near-fatal car accident. At the same time, my child fell seriously ill. It was during this crisis that a mother’s wise encouragement to seek God through prayer led me to witness a miracle—my child’s recovery. That moment became a spiritual turning point, awakening me to God's presence and power.

This experience prompted deep personal reflection and a commitment to leave behind harmful habits, including excessive drinking. On February 21, 2013, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ—a day that forever changed the course of my life.

Feeling a clear call to serve, I founded a prayer ministry in 2013. After moving to Denver, Colorado, in 2014, I continued the ministry before eventually settling in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2019, where I re-established it. Later that year, I joined the Church of the Nazarene and found a loving, faith-filled community where I continue to worship and grow.

Married, our family is blessed with seven children and, I am committed to leading my family in service to the Lord. Our lives are anchored in the truth of Joshua 24:15–23, choosing to serve God rather than the idols of this world. My journey is one of redemption, purpose, and the enduring love of God amid life’s greatest trials.
